Rules and Regulations of the Fair Music Agency according to ISO/IEC Guide 65
The ISO 65 standard is designed for organizations that operate independent product certification systems, and specifies this with various criteria. This will primarily ensure that the certification organizations operate as so-called "third-parties", which are independent of the main organization and can avoid intra-organizational certification. By these standards, a high degree of objectivity and transparency in the certification process can be achieved.
1. The fair music agency will be impartial.
2. The supervisory board is responsible for decisions relating to its granting, maintaining,
extending, suspending and withdrawing of certification.
3. The CEO is responsible for the documents which demonstrate the legal entity of the agency.
4. The fair music agency ensures that each decision on certification is taken by a person different
from those who carried out the evaluation. External auditors will be mandated to provide all
information needed to decide about a certification. The certification committee then decides
about the certification itself
5. The fair music agency shall ensure to have adequate arrangements to cover liabilities arising
from its operations and/or activities.
6. The fair music agency shall have the financial stability and resources required for the operation
of a certification system.
7. The fair music agency shall employ a sufficient number of personnel having the necessary
education, training, technical knowledge and experience for performing certification functions.
8. The fair music agency shall only engage in certification and shall not be engaged in any other
activities.
9. The supervisory board as well as the executives and staff of the fair music agency shall be free
from any commercial, financial and other pressures which might influence the results of the
certification process.
10. The supervisory board is responsible for the appointment of both the certification committee and
the appeal committee. Both shall be free from any commercial, financial and other pressures
that might influence decisions, its members are chosen to provide a balance of interests where
no single interest predominates.
11. The supervisory board will ensure that activities of related bodies do not affect the
confidentiality, objectivity and impartiality of its certifications, and that it shall not supply or
design products of the type it certifies, give advice or provide consultancy services to the
applicant as to methods of dealing with matters which are barriers to the certification requested,
provide any other products or services which could compromise the confidentiality, objectivity or
impartiality of its certification process and decisions
12. Complaints resolution mechanism: The appeal committee is the fair music agencies’ instrument
to resolve complaints. Every applicant who does not agree with a decision about a certification
has the possibility to appeal.
