mica-music austria

mica - music austria (www.musicaustria.at) is the central communication platform for contemporary music of all genres in Austria. From its headquarters in Vienna mica acts regionally, nationally, and internationally on behalf of Austrian creators of music. One of mica - music austria's main tasks is to support the innovative creation of contemporary music. The most important sponsors of this non-profit organization are the Cultural Departments of the Austrian Republic and of the City of Vienna. mica - music austria is in active co-operation and collaboration with numerous organisations and enterprises from the cultural, technological, and economic sectors and in public-private partnerships.

mica - music austria is actively involved in many umbrella organisations of the music sector on European and international levels: IAMIC (International Association of Music Information Centers), IAML (International Association of Music Libraries), EMC (European Music Council), IMC (International Music Council), EMO (European Music Office), among others.

As project partner in several European projects, such as European Music Database, European Music Navigator (www.musicnavigator.org), MUSICNETWORK (www.interactivemusicnetwork.org) and DMET- Digital Music Education and Training, funded by the EU Culture 2000 program, mica - music austria has developed a broad expertise on various music and technology related topics.
